Sexually transmitted infection screening service
Dr Kane, Dr. Mansfield, Dr. Casey and Dr. Ling are running a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Screening Service. These appointments are longer than standard, involve a variety of possible tests and need to be arranged through reception, please ensure to inform reception that you require a longer appointment. This is a clinic for people who are concerned about, or who have symptoms of a sexually transmitted infection. The common infections include genital warts, herpes, chlamydia and gonorrhoea. We will provide full screening, diagnosis and treatment for these infections. We will also provide blood testing for HIV, Hepatitis and Syphilis. Many of these infections do not cause symptoms but are easily treated, so if in doubt, check it out!
Women's Health
Full Cardiovascular and Respiratory check-up. Cervical smear and Breast Examination. We provide individually tailored, comprehensive, risk assessment and health screening. This can be performed over two or three visits, depending on needs. This is a specialised service, in keeping with what have become termed 'executive medicals'. We encourage all patients to consider their individual requirements and discuss with reception or one of our doctors. Small and large corporate arrangements are made through Reception or our Practice Manager.
Heart Health
We provide an assessment service to determine the risk of heart attack or other cardiac events. To this end we can provide 24-Hour portable Blood Pressure Monitors. Also available is computerised lung function testing and home blood pressure monitors. All ECG tests can be performed onsite in the surgery, along with full blood screening for cholesterol and other relevant blood tests.
Heart Watch
The practice is very involved in the government's Heartwatch programme for maximizing the health of people who have already had a Cardiac Event ie. Heart Attack, Cardiac Bypass surgery, Coronary artery Stent insertion. This is a service provided free to patients meeting these criteria. Please ask your doctor or reception for further details.
Diabetes Service
Full diagnostic screening tests are available ie. fasting glucose tests and oral glucose tolerance tests. The doctors and nurses in the practice have special interest and training in maximizing the health of Diabetic patients. We provide a complete care service for all Type 2 Diabetic patients. There is a structured, ongoing care programme, with planned regular reviews and check-ups to minimize the health risks of Diabetes Mellitus.
Men's Health

Child & Adolescent Health
Childhood Immunisation Programme: All basic vaccinations as outlined in the government immunisation guidelines are provided free of charge. Developmental screening. Dietary and lifestyle advice.
Mother & Infant Care
Free ante-natal care is provided over a set number of consultations upon enrolement in the Government 'Mother and Infant Scheme'. Application forms are available at Reception.
Insurance Medicals
All necessary examinations and routine investigations are carried out within 24hrs of request.
Travel Health Centre
The surgery is a Yellow Fever certified travel vaccination and health centre. This comprehensive travel health service is provided by both the doctors and nurses. When booking your appointment it is essential to inform Reception which countries you are planning to visit, it allows us time to prepare the most up-to-date health and vaccine information for you. Any expense incurred is unfortunately not covered under the GMS programme and must be paid on the day of appointment due to the expense of travel vaccines.
Respiratory/Asthma Service
Full diagnostic screening service using computerised breathing testing on site (spirometry) for Asthma, Emphysema, Bronchitis and smoking related conditions. Asthma Monitoring and check-up services including advice on getting the most out of inhaler treatment. Remember as time passes, inhaler requirements may change and technique needs to reviewed regularly.
Smoking cessation - All members of the medical staff are highly motivated to help those who wish to stop smoking. This is a very difficult task and we advise getting as much help as possible.
Weight Loss Clinic
This is a joint service between both the Practice Nurses and Doctors. Initial assessment and detailed history taking allows tailoring of an individual programme. In certain circumstances this may involve medication advice/prescribing.
Follow up and review is key to any successful weight adjustment programme. We can provide a structured set of appointments to ensure your indiviual targets are being met.
Dermatology/Skin care
General skin health has long been a special interest of the practice. Monitoring for any suspicious lesions is an important practice. Digital photographs can be a useful record for monitoring. Several doctors in the surgery are involved in both biopsying or removing any necessary skin lesions. Cryotherapy is an area of expertise; warts, verrucae, skin tags and a variety of other skin lesion can be treated
Medico-Legal Reports
Cervical Check Programme
The practice is now registered with the Cervical Check Programme. This programme entitles women aged between 25 and 60 to avail of a free cervical smear. Should you wish to make an appointment for this service, please contact reception and make an appointment with one of our Practice Nurses.
