The Clinic is open Mon-Thurs 8am-8pm. We don't have Friday appointments at present but will do in the near future.

Booking is essential. No referral necessary.

Physiotherapists

 

We have a team of two highly qualified Physiotherapists. They are both practicing members of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. This ensures an excellent standard of care as evidence of ongoing professional development is required to maintain membership in the ISCP. It also entitles clients of the physiotherapy clinic to claim money back from their health insurers and to put the remainder against tax.

Sarah Hancock, Chartered Physiotherapist, BSc., MSc., MISCP

 

Sarah Hancock is a Masters of Science Graduate of Kings College London in Physiotherapy and a Member of the Irish  Society of Chartered Phsiotherapists (MISCP). Sarah has further trained in the application of Acupuncture for the treatment of pain and dysfunction completing studies with the British Medical Acupuncture Society. 

Sarah has extensive experience in Sports Physiotherapy, working with clients with sports injuries for a number of years in clinics across London, County Wicklow, and County Dublin. Sarah was the Physiotherapist to CBC Monkstown school senior rugby team for the 2009/2010 season, and is the current team Physiotherapist for Terenure College Senior XV team (2009/2010 and 2010/2011).

Aside from Sarah's sports interests, she has specialised in the assessment and casting of orthotics and insoles for the treatment of biomechaniclly derived lower limb pain, and ergonomic assessments for the prevention of workplace pain.

Sarah is also a Stott Pilates trained Pilates Instructor. She holds both individual and group Pilates classes at Dún Laoghaire Physiotherapy Clinic. The next Beginners, Improvers and Intermediate Pilates Courses begin in March 2012 at Dún Laoghaire Physiotherapy Clinic. The course runs for 6 weeks at a total cost of €90. Niall Bevan, Chartered Physiotherapist, BSc, MSC, MISCP, MCPSEM

 

  Niall Bevan is a Masters of Science Graduate of Kings College London in Physiotherapy and a Member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (MISCP). Since qualification Niall has worked in public hospitals in Dublin and Kildare. Niall is currently studying for a MSc in Sports Physiotherapy in UCD.

 

Niall has a special interest in sports Physiotherapy. He is a current, practicing member of the Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine special interest group (CPSEM). Niall is an experienced sports Physiotherapist, having provided physiotherapeutic care for Trinitiy's DUFC Rugby team for the past 4 years. Niall is the current Physiotherapist for Gonzaga College's junior and senior cup rugby teams. Niall is an avid sportsman himself and this is evident in his understanding of the sportsperson's needs.

Fees

Treatment fees at Dun Laoghaire Sports Injury and Physiotherapy Clinic are €50 per consultation.

Home visits can be arranged if required (Cost of sessions will vary depending on location).

Pilates Classes €90 for 6 weeks (Max 7 per group): Next set of courses (Beginners, Improvers and Intermediates (depending on demand) will begin in March 2012.

Chartered Physiotherapy is eligible for refund with VHI, Quinn Medical, Hibernian AVIVA Health and the Hospital Saturday Fund among others (we do advise you check your policy in case of additional terms and conditions). Reimbursement rates vary depending on your policy but as much as €40 per treatment can be reclaimed.

Tax relief is available on Chartered Physiotherapy costs. Submit a Med1 form yearly to claim tax back on Physiotherapy expenses.

Directions

From Sandycove/Glasthule DART station: Turn right out of the station, cross the road and walk down the hill approximately 50m towards glasthule village. We are just before St Joseph's church opposite the bus stop. 

From Glasthule Village: Walk up the hill towards Dun Laoghaire high street. We are on the right hand side of the road just after St Joseph's church, and opposite the bus stop.

Pilates Classes

 

Pilates Courses are now running on Thursday evenings.

The courses run for 6 weeks at a total cost of €90. Class sizes restricted to 7.

Next Beginners, Improvers and Intermediate classes start in March 2012.
